An extended long weekend means you have an extra day to get out with the family and try something new! Take advantage of holiday fares on Translink, where you’ll only need a 1-Zone fare to travel across all zones on Monday, February 17th. Ski on Seymour
Kids ski for FREE! To celebrate Family Day, children 12 and under can enjoy a complimentary area pass after 2:30pm all Family Day Weekend (Feb 15 – 17)! Here’s the fine print:
- Available from 2:30pm onwards on Feb 15, 16 & 17.
- The child/children must be present at the ticket window at the time of purchase.
- Maximum of two children per adult who has purchased a full price area pass.
- Children must be accompanied by an adult (who has purchased an adult area pass).
- Cannot be combined with any other offer, or discounted area pass purchased online.
- Does not include rental equipment.
No kids accompanying you? Check out Shred for a Cause, a ladies ski night where passes are just $15! Men pay just $35 to ski for the evening, and $7.50 from every ticket sold raises money for The Bloom Group, a local, community-based charity. After 8pm, there will be trivia and games for prizes in the Rock Chute.
Robson Square Ice Skating
Enjoy the winter season a little while longer! Robson Square Ice Skating is celebrating Family Day by offering free skate rentals and admission. Enjoy the fun of an outdoor rink experience, with the benefits of a covered roof, concession stand, colourful lights, and cute photo ops. Don’t forget to grab a delicious hot chocolate after!
Fort Langley – Family Fun Day
Spend Family Day time-travelling together to Fort Langley. Enjoy a variety of unique activities, such as barrel-making, watching the blacksmith work, and shaping your own piece of metal at the Jr. Blacksmith Shop. Admission details:
- $7.90 per adult, $6.60 per senior, and free for youth 17 and under.
- Fort Langley annual pass holders and Parks Canada Discovery Pass holders also get free entry.
Vancouver Aquarium
Looking for something educational and fun? Check out the 4-D Experience at the Vancouver Aquarium! A cinematic adventure filled with sensory effects such as wind, mist, scents, and dramatic lighting. Next, visit the Dolphin Habitat and Sea Otter Exhibit and learn more about VanAqua’s Marine Mammal Rescue Centre – the only one in Canada. Museum of Vancouver
The Museum of Vancouver is inviting Vancouverites to celebrate Family Day on February 17th with complimentary admission. Take a selfie with one of the Official 2010 Olympic Mascots while remembering the #powerofsport2010. Explore the Haida Now exhibition with captivating Haida stories and witness indigenous art up close and personal. Learn more about Vancouver’s history with fun for the entire family!
Family Day at Trout Lake
Located in the East Van neighbourhood? Check out this free Family Festival at Trout Lake Community Centre from 11am to 3pm. You can expect fun family-friendly activities and the opportunity to participate in program demonstrations, arts, sports, community dances, and pottery, all while listening to great live music!
Winter Festival at Guildford Town Centre
This February, enjoy some old-fashioned fun at the Winter Festival at Guildford Town Centre. For two weekends, the north parking lot will be transformed into a magical outdoor skating rink, with food trucks, a life-size snow globe and more.
City of New Westminster Family Day
All City Parks and Rec facilities, along with the Anvil Centre and River Market, are offering a free Family Day of fun. The Anvil Centre’s Family Fun Zone will feature Science World on the Road, Magician Peter Rooke, Nintendo games, photo booth fun, and much more! There will be fun arts and crafts aboard the Samson V. Museum. Plus, free swimming, fitness classes, skating, arts and crafts, entertainment, and more!
Queensborough Community Centre
Enjoy an exciting morning of family friendly activities including a bounce castle, crafts, and more! Details:
- 8:30am – 11:30am: free fitness centre admission (regular admission applies after 11:30 am)
- 9am – 1pm: Queensborough Library will also be open playing host to a crafts table and story time.
- 12:30pm – 2:30pm: Family pickleball in the gym
